The ceremony held in Malick Nana, Upper Niumi District of North Bank Region, witnessed distribution of 27 bags of rice among the beneficiaries; 5-litre cooking oil and a cash amount of five hundred dalasi to each of the affected families
Also, the International NGO has been key in providing relief support to communities and families in need of support.
Presenting the items, Kawsu Kinteh, chairman Humanity First-The Gambia, reminded that it has been a tradition for his organisation to respond to disasters in the country and the current scenario is not an exception.
Humanity First, he went on, is non-political, or religious ethnicity or race and that being the case, they deem it necessary to come to the aid of anyone without distinction.
He thus advised the victims to be strong and steadfast in this difficult situation as floods are natural made disasters.
Momodou Chatty Cham, chief of the district, commended Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and in particular Humanity First for the humanitarian gesture.
The donated food items and the cash, he added, is no small value and it will go a long way in easing the lives of the affected families.
The beneficiary families also added their voice by thanking Humanity First for the coming to their aid and prayed for the organisation.
The beneficiary villages include; Jurunku, Chillia and Chamunding all in the Upper Nuimi District.
Kinteh was accompanied by his Director of Operations and Food Safety Mr Yankuba Sinayoko.
