One of the easiest learning platforms for students in The Gambia, G-Quiz, is a platform that combines interactive quizzing, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and adaptive learning to help students prepare for exams in a fun and effective way. It recently offered free classes to students ahead of the West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.

The free google application is designed for secondary school learners, candidates preparing for the West Africa Examination and other international exams.

G-Quiz partnered with Africell to offer free WASSCE Preparation classes to high school students across The Gambia. Part of their services is their commitment to providing quality education to all students regardless of their socio-economic background.

EbrimaSenghore, the Chief Executive Officer of G-Quiz, said G-Quiz is an excellent opportunity for easy access to quality education and also complements school efforts. He added that they are not here to fight but rather help students in attaining good results.

CEO Senghore added that, G-Quiz was triggered during the height of the Covid-19, adding that they signed up for the challenge.

He added that the increase failure rate of students also gave them the energy to push on to help with free study classes.

Omar John, a senior teacher at Daddy Jobe Senior Secondary School, extended appreciation to G-Quiz for their efforts in adding value to the education system in the country. He added that the free classes are an opportunity for all students and encouraged grade 12 students to make best use of the opportunity since their exams is just at the corner.

Baba Jaiteh, the Co-founder of G-Quiz, said they aim to extend the same opportunities to students in the rural areas who are less privileged to access, to passexaminations questions and answers, the G-Quiz application and other opportunities.

He pointed out that among their challenges is students coming for classes late and others showing less commitment even though they are trying to help.

“We need more venues to host the students because they come afar and Daddy Jobe being the only host is a challenge.”

He raised concern on the two core subjects (Mathematics and English) which students mostly fail, saying that G-Quiz is trying to curb the failure rate and improve the performance of students.

AbdoulieSallah, supervisor of the main hall, Africell, said the partnership came about when G-Quiz approached them to support students in upgrading their performance in school.

He urged students to join the free classes and get the application for their benefit.

Ndey Fatou Sanneh and Alasan O. Bah, both students benefiting from the classes applauded G-Quiz for giving them such an opportunity. They plead to the supervisors to provide more classrooms for students.

Meanwhile, students were provided with free sim cards and data as well as assisted on the G-Quiz application.
