CRR governor assures that there will be fair sharing of covid-19 food aid

Central River Region’s Governor Sheriff Abba Sanyang has encouraged the people of his region whose names did not appear on the government initial covid-19 food relief distribution list to remain calm, assuring them that everyone will get fair share of the package.

In the initial list, some names were written on more than one coupon while several others were not registered at all.

Governor Sanyang told this reporter at his office in Janjanbureh that the distribution of the food aid is going smoothly at all the distribution points, reminding beneficiaries that they must produce their coupons and identification cards before receiving the rations.

He said all those whose names appeared twice on the coupons will only receive the food package once, saying that regional authorities leading the distribution are helping people to observe social distancing at distributions points.

Governor Sanyang hailed Gambia government for providing the food package to the door steps of every Gambia and called on beneficiaries to make best use of the food aid.

Regional disaster coordinator, Ngange Jeng said both CRR north and south have only five distribution centers which he described as a challenge on them.
