The D10,000 was the total sum for the entire 25-day exercise, with each day being pegged at D400.
However, Councilors, who appeared before the said commission gave different testimonies before the Commission over the exercise, casting serious doubts over it.
While some informed the commission that they were in groups in different markets, others told the commission that all the Councilors of KMC were in one market.
Some also said they were alone and others said they were paid without participating.
However, one issue that seems to be consistent in their testimonies, is that all of the Councilors signed the attendance register in one day.
Another issue the Commission has uncovered was that the said market exercise happened in July 2018, but the KMC held a council meeting to backdate the payment as a support for the Tobaski to motivate them.
For Babucarr Mansally, he said he only participated 12 days instead of 25 days as indicated in the attendance register, which he signed.
“Later, when they were paying, they called me to come and I received the D10,000.” he said.
Quizzed by Counsel Sunkary Camara as to whether he returned the balance.
But the witness responded that ‘he did not’ even though, he admitted that the payment was wrong.
