The theme for the seminar was centered on sustaining peace and security in practice on The Gambia’s 58th Independence anniversary.
The seminar was attended by government officials, security personnel, scholars, students, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and members of national and international organizations.
Alasana Jallow, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Peace Network in his remarks stated the Peace Network which started as a television show is now an instrumental nonprofit making company focused on mediation, research, peace and security education.
Justice as he is commonly called pointed out that Peace Network has the capacity to intervene and facilitate solutions to many of the rising daily conflicts in the country.
However, the clarified that they cannot solve all conflicts because conflict is inevitable and even the UN is unable to resolve all conflicts.
He highlighted their numerous achievements registered in 2022, adding that they are determined to make even more achievements in 2023.
“Peace is the business of all. Therefore, let us cooperate and collaborate to make a peaceful planet,” he also said.
According to CEO Jallow CEO all their achievements were supported by an individual (Professor Momodou Mustapha Fanneh) and therefore called on the public to support them for the benefit of all.
