A ward councillor and two youth leaders of the United Democratic Party (UDP) have tendered their resignations from the party with immediate effect.

Mr Habib M.L. Ceesay, former Second Vice President of the UDP National Youth Wing; Mr Muhammed M. Drammeh, Councillor for Ebo Town/Jeshwang Ward; and Mr Ousman Korta, Campaign Manager for Tallinding North Ward, are the three officials who have stepped down.

In his farewell message, Mr Ceesay reflected on his long-standing ties with the party, stating: “The UDP has been more than a political party to me; it has been a family legacy. My parents stood with the party since its founding, and their sacrifices inspired my own journey from the ward level to the national executive. I remain forever grateful for the opportunities to serve, learn, and grow within the UDP.”

He added: “The UDP has shaped my political life and given me opportunities to learn, serve, and connect with people across this nation. For that, I will forever remain grateful.”
