The classroom refurbishment, as well as the computers were sponsored by the NAM of the constituency, Hon. Assan Touray, through the constituency development funds allocated to National Assembly representatives with the support of the Development Committee to creating a conducive learning environment for the students in the areas of technology and innovation.
Aja Fatou Gassama Jammeh, the principal of the school thanked Hon. Assan Touray and the Bakau Development Committee for the gesture and applauded them for a job well done.
She stated that making the lab available for the students has signified the importance of technology in modern-day education, adding that, the school is the only government Upper Basic School in Bakau and appealed for support from philanthropists and partners to help equip the school home science and carpentry classrooms as well.
Speaking on behalf of Hon. Assan Touray, Mr Lang Sanneh head of the education sub-committee of the Bakau Development Committee said parents and teachers must work hand in glove to embrace the provision of conducive environment for teaching and learning at all times.
Alagie Badara Yoro Jallow , the chairman of the Bakau Development Committee urged students to take learning seriously and make good use of the lab as technology is the key in the 21st century.
He also urged parents to take responsibility for their children’s education and monitor them in school at all times.
Momodou Dibba, the principal of Daddy Jobe Senior Secondary School, who is a close collaborator, thanked the Bakau development committee and Hon. Assan Touray for the laudable initiative and urged parents to participate in their children’s education.
