Speaking to the media after the closed-door meeting, the outgoing Country Director expressed appreciation for the excellent relationship between Enabel, the Belgian development agency, and the Government of The Gambia.
He highlighted Enabel's work in supporting private sector development, empowering young and women entrepreneurs, and matching workforce skills to labour market needs.
He also noted Enabel's role as a bridge between Gambian and European businesses, facilitating trade, partnerships, and investment with funding from the European Union.
Among the achievements cited was a new agro-processing factory, a public-private partnership between the Government of The Gambia, the Ministry of Trade, GIEPA, and Enabel, funded by the EU.
Now operational, the factory is creating jobs and processing agricultural products such as mango for export across the region and beyond.
The Country Director thanked VP Jallow for his continued partnership and support, noting the Vice President's emphasis on the private sector as the engine of economic growth and job creation.
