Businessman gives 260 bags of rice to CRR communities

Fafa Ceesay, a Gambian businessman in Old Yundum has donated 260 bags of 25kg of rice to the three districts in Naimina in the Central River Region.
The beneficiary schools were Lutheran nursery and primary school in Abuko, Serrekunda annex lower basic school, Tallinding lower basic school, the French nursery and primary schools in The Gambia.
In receiving the materials, Yaya B. Jatta, head teacher Serrekunda Annex Lower Basic School thanked donors for their support, saying the materials would be put into good use.
Mr Jatta added that the books will help the students as some of them come from poor families. He also said that the books would enhance the education of pupils.
He assured AGA that the materials would be used for their intended purpose. However, he appealed for more assistance, saying the school is in dire need of materials.
Haddijatou Houma, head girl of the school on behalf of pupils thanked AGA for their gesture, and added that they will make best use of the materials.
Dodou Darboe, deputy head teacher Tallinding Lower Basic School expressed delight receiving the materials. He also assured the charitable trust that they would ensure the books reach pupils.
Kebba Banja, AGA Charitable Trust Gambia president said they are ready to support other interested schools knowing that education and health are key to development.
Mr.Banja noted that government cannot do it all alone and as such it is important they complement its efforts for the development of the country.
Cherno Yaddeh, technical adviser AGA Charitable Trust Gambia said as Gambians they were pleased to be able to help their fellow citizens in need.
