The award, which came as a surprise was as a result of his high commitment towards reforms in tax administration.
Mr Darboe, who acknowledged and appreciated the award, said: “The board, management and the staff of GRA appreciate the award. This came as a result of my stand for digitalisation of tax administration in the sub region. The award is dedicated to my staff and it will motivate them to do more for the Gambia Revenue Authority.”
“Inshallah, all Gambians will be proud of us as far as modernisation of tax administration is concerned.”
He added that The Gambia is among the leading revenue collectors as a result of the reforms mechanism put in place to close all leakages.
