Vice President Touray said the Bill is “one of the achievements of the President Adama Barrow’s government in bettering the economic conditions of government employees.”
“I believe this will play a positive role in building and the improvement of employees and in particular the pensioners of The Gambia to boost their financial status and fair retirement package,” she remarked, while acknowledging the efforts of the Personnel Management Office (PMO) and other relevant institutions in making the legislative approval process of the Bill a success.
The Sub-Committee on Finance and Public Account Committee (FPAC) and Public Enterprise Committee (PEC) chaired by Honourable Member for Serrekunda Central as well as the Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly had all scrutinised the Bill clause by clause before endorsement.
Now that the Public Pension Bill has been passed in parliament, it awaits the signature of His Excellency President Adama Barrow to become a Law.
