The National Assembly Member for Sabach Sanjal, Hon. Alagie Babou Ceesay, has declared that his constituency is firmly behind President Adama Barrow ahead of the 2026 presidential election, while rejecting suggestions of disagreement among coalition partners.

Speaking to journalists at Pallen Fulla in Sabach Sanjal, North Bank Region, during National People's Party (NPP) political rally on Saturday, the lawmaker said the gathering was organised by youths and women of the constituency to demonstrate solidarity with the government and its development agenda under the National People's Party.

According to him, the event was meant to “solidify support” and reaffirm loyalty to the President, whom he credited for what he described as unprecedented development in the area.

He cited the construction of a 48-kilometre road network linking the constituency to surrounding economic zones, expansion of rural electrification to several villages, classroom blocks and teachers’ quarters, as well as ambulance support to major health facilities.

Lawmaker for Sabach Sanjal, said the constituency’s border location with Senegal makes it strategically important for trade and regional integration, adding that improved infrastructure has enhanced movement and economic activity.

“We have nothing to offer him other than our support,” he told reporters, noting that residents intend to repay what he called the trust placed in them by the President’s administration.

He further stated that supporters are determined to secure a strong mandate for the President in the next polls, insisting the rally reflected the collective position of the constituency.

The lawmaker also addressed social media claims that the event was organised in response to a separate political gathering by Hamat N. K. Bah of the National Reconciliation Party.

He dismissed the allegation, describing relations between alliance members as cordial and cooperative.

“We attended their rally and they were invited to ours. There is no problem,” he said.

Hon. Ceesay added that coalition partners including the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction and Citizens' Alliance remain united locally in supporting the President.

He noted that although the President could not attend, he delegated Musa Drammeh to represent him.

The rally ended with supporters pledging continued backing for the President, signalling early political mobilisation in the constituency as attention gradually shifts towards the 2026 election season.
