PPP electoral commission disqualifies Ousman M. Faal, others

The Electoral Commission of the People's Progressive Party (PPP) has disqualified several candidates for the violations of Article 14.3(E) of the party’s constitution, according to a press release.

They are: Ousman Madikay Faal, Alpha Ousman Jallow, Sohna Amie Badjan Mboob, Mbemba Nanko, Amadou Bah, Dawda K. Jarju and Karafa Sambou.

The Electoral Commission of the People's Progressive Party (PPP) wishes to inform
the general membership of the party and the public that a verdict has been reached regarding the petition filed by certain candidates citing constitutional violations during the December 21st congress.

After thorough deliberations and consultations with multiple legal experts, the Electoral Commission has determined the following:

Disqualification of Candidates:

The following candidates have been disqualified due to their gross violations of Article 14.3(E) which states "Candidates shall sign this undertaking to participate in our electoral processes, refusal to sign shall result in disqualification."

Disqualified Candidates: Ousman Madikay Faal, Alpha Ousman Jallow, Sohna Amie Badjan Mboob, Mbemba Nanko, Amadou Bah, Dawda K. Jarju, Karafa Sambou.

Subsequently, the following candidates who signed the undertaking and adhered to all constitutional requirements are duly elected.

Kebba E. Jallow: Secretary General and Party Leader, Uthman A. N. Jeng: Deputy Secretary General and Party Leader, Ousainou M. I. Jallow: National President, Maimuna Sawaneh: Deputy National Treasurer.

The Electoral Commission extends its gratitude to all members of the People's Progressive Party for their patience and cooperation throughout this process. We reaffirm our commitment to upholding the party’s constitution and ensuring the integrity of our democratic processes.
