A total of 60 suspects have been taken into custody. They are foreign nationals from Asian countries, presumed to be Chinese and Vietnamese. Efforts are currently underway to ascertain their exact nationalities in collaboration with relevant authorities.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects were allegedly engaged in fraudulent activities linked to offshore companies, targeting victims abroad through cryptocurrency investment scams and social media recruitment.
While investigations are ongoing, the Gambia Police Force reaffirms its commitment to the fight against cybercrime and urges the public to remain vigilant and cautious of online investment schemes that promise unrealistic returns.
