Prosecutors alleged that Maimuna Jallow and Maju Samba, at Senegambia and diverse places, in the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of The Gambia, distributed nude video of F.C. and shared it on Maimuna Jallow’s Snap’s Chat Account or page for circulation.
They denied any wrongdoing.
The prosecuting officers, Commissioner A. Sanneh, Superintendent A. Keita and ASP L. Trawally represented the IGP. Defence Counsel E.M. Sissoho, who represented the accused persons, applied for the court to grant them bail.
Commissioner Sanneh told the court that he was opposing bail. He applied for the accused persons to be remanded in custody pending the hearing and determination of the case. “Their lives are at risk, as there are people who have the intention to attack them. Investigation is still ongoing and if they are released on bail, they might tamper with it,” Prosecutor Sanneh argued.
Magistrate Jabang, as a result, adjourned the case to the 17th July, 2023, for ruling on the bail and the accused persons to be remanded. He stated that the first accused person, Maimuna Jallow, who is a breastfeeding mother, shall be kept in a facility preferably Bakoteh facility as she is a lactating mother.
