NoGJWCA president calls for unity among female youths

The president of the Network of Gender Journalists for Women and Cultural Advancement (NoGJWCA) has called on the youths of Batokunku and Tanji to unite and desist from violence and other harmful practices which may serve as obstacles to their lives.

Pateh Baldeh made these remarks during a friendly football match between Nema FC of Tanji and Laka Barrow FC of Batokunku.

Baldeh reminded that football like any other game is a career that could be used to maintain peace and unity within communities and people.

He therefore advised them be united and work through proper networking to achieve their set target goals.

He also used the occasion to thank organizers of the football match and parents for supporting their children.

Habby Bah, Manager for Laka Barrow FC said the initiative came as a result of her love to develop her community and support youths.

She stated that her priority is to invest in youth especially female football, pointing out that the event is the first of its kind in the community.

She thus called for more support and encouragement towards women football in the country.

Kaddy Jarju, Captain for Laka Barrow FC, dwelled on the challenges they face especially in terms of financial support, further calling on the authority to come to their aid.

SaineyJobarteh and Alasan Dampha, Head Coaches for Laka Barrow FC and Nema FC both appealed for support to improve the talents of their players. The match ended 1-nil in favour of Laka Barrow FC.
