This is not the first time Lamin J. Darboe has expressed interest in the UDP leadership, according to the Kerr Fatou. He previously submitted his application during the party’s 2021 selection process. However, in a recent interview, he voiced dissatisfaction, alleging that he was not granted an interview at the time despite meeting the requirements.
Dr. Muhammed Danjo, a medical doctor and native of Basse, has formally joined the contest for the United Democratic Party’s (UDP) flagbearer position, submitting his application just ahead of the September 2 deadline.
Speaking to Kerr Fatou in a phone interview earlier today, Dr. Danjo confirmed that he is a card-carrying member of the UDP, noting that while he has never held an executive position within the party, he has long been a steadfast supporter.
His candidacy adds a new dimension to the contest, which already features Kanifing Municipal Council Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda, Counsel Lamin J. Darboe, and veteran politician and UDP leader ANM Ousainu Darboe.
