Mr Darboe, who did not disclose which party he would join, also strongly emphasised that he will not via for presidency in 2026.
“But come 2026, I might join any political party or come up as independent but I must be fully involved into politics,” he said on Saturday 17 May 2025 in URR at an event where he was adopted by Tummana Agency for Development as ‘honouray father’.
During this event Mr Darboe donated one million dalasi to 43 communities through TAD.
The event was attended by youths, elders and women groups as cross URR.
In his official speech, Darboe advised the youths to pay dearly to defeat some of the politicians that come and give them a mere promise.
Mr. Darboe promised that in 2026, his first engagement in politics will start in URR. He assured that once he starts the journey, most of their challenges will be the thing of the past. He also thanked the communities of URR for adopting him as honorary father.
He promised to address their welfare through his organisation, saying by 2026 he might not via for presidency but would involve fully into politics.
Mr Darboe hinted that in 2026 he might come up and join hands with either GDC; NPP; UDP or Essa Faal or even NCP.
Also speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the executive director of Tummana Agency for Development, Modou Lamin Drammeh, applauded the 43 communities for a massive welcome Mr. Darboe.
He also thanked Mr. Darboe for donating one million dalasi to 43 communities through TAD, while expressing total appreciation and acknowledgment over the amount donated to the said communities
“We believe that the money donated will go a long way in addressing some of the issues affecting the women group,” he said, adding that all members of this association would support Mr Modou Turo Darboe in 2026.
