A source who is familiar with the development and wished to remain anonymous has confirmed the development, saying: "The incident happened on Tuesday night. The prison officers only knew about the tragedy when they were conducting their normal routine checking within the cells in the prison. They saw the man being hung with a mosquito net tight around his neck."
"The senior prison officials were then informed about the incident who also called the police to inform them."
The inmate, our source went on, was recently admitted at the Tanka-Tanka- Psychiatric Hospital. "I can confirm to you that the deceased was discharged from the hospital on the 28th of January 2024."
