Its activities go beyond France, extending to the international front. This is the rationale behind its endeavour to extending activities to The Gambia.
The Point had an exclusive interview with Ousman Bah, a Gambian residing in France but leading expansion efforts on the ground.
As coordinator of the intended expansion drive, Ousman, who is currently in the country, helps facilitate or coordinate the initiative.
Ousman noted that Le Réveil Humanitaire was founded by individuals whose personal life experiences inspired them to help others facing difficult circumstances, adding that since its establishment, the association has supported vulnerable people through practical initiatives that reflect human solidarity.
"In France, we organise food distributions, provide clothing to people in need and maintain regular contact with vulnerable members of the community,” he explained. “We believe that humanitarian work is not only about giving material assistance but also about listening to people, respecting their dignity and helping them regain confidence and hope.
"Beyond France, we have already carried out international humanitarian actions. In Ivory Coast, for example, we donated medical supplies to a hospital to support healthcare services and improve patient care.
"Today, we are looking to expand our humanitarian impact through new partnerships, particularly in The Gambia. We hope to work with local organisations, institutions, businesses and community leaders to develop sustainable projects in health, education and social support."
Ousman, a humble and vigorous young man, iterated that they have a simple vision: which is to awaken solidarity among people of the world, restore dignity for everyone and create lasting positive change wherever help is needed.
Humanitarian action, for Ousman and the rest of the Le Réveil Humanitaire team, is not only about giving food or supplies but rather "about restoring dignity, creating hope and reminding people that they are not alone".
