When the case was called, the prosecuting officer said that she was applying under Section 208 of the CPC for the case to be transferred to the High Court and the accused remanded at Mile 2 Prison, pending the hearing of the case at the High Court.
In granting her application, the presiding magistrate said that the court lacks the jurisdiction to hear the case, since it is a capital offence. As a result, he transferred the case to the High Court and remanded the accused at Mile 2 Prison, pending the hearing of the case at the High Court.
Earlier, an eye witness revealed that the victim, Bubacarr Bangaura, had an issue with a woman who was drying her laundry at home. The witness further stated that Ousman Ceesay, the accused, got involved and started insulting. He then entered his room and later came out and he and the victim started stabbing each other.
