Barrow attends Ouattara’s fourth term inauguration

His Excellency President Adama Barrow joined a gathering of fellow Heads of State and dignitaries in Abidjan for the inauguration of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire.

President Ouattara was sworn in for a fourth term, pledging to uphold the nation's constitution. In his inaugural address, he outlined a vision for Côte d’Ivoire’s future centred on democracy, stability, and peace. He reaffirmed his commitment to modernisation and institutional development, while also paying tribute to the nation's founding President, Félix Houphouët-Boigny, and acknowledging all candidates from the October 2025 election. His statement also highlights his vision on women and youth empowerment for the country’s growth, emphasising the importance of skills acquisition and relying on domestic resources to drive economic growth.

President Barrow’s attendance underscores The Gambia’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing economic integration within Africa.

The ceremony was also graced by the presence of several other regional leaders, including Presidents John Dramani Mahama of Ghana, Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal, Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone, Brice Nguéma of Gabon, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania, and João Lourenço of Angola.
