Senegambia traders lament cross-border challenge, gov’t reacts

The Gambia and Senegal have signed multiple trade agreements and bilateral relations but traders continue to register challenges despite some privileges offered.
The declaration shall last for a period of seven days, pursuant to section 34(2) with effect from today, 15th July 2020.
The COVID -19 Emergency Regulations issued under the Emergency Powers Act shall continue to apply during the period of the State of Public Emergency.
In the light of the increasing number of COIVD-19 cases and in consideration that three (3) COVID related deaths have been recorded in the country, the public is advised to take all precautionary measures to protect themselves and others in a bid to curtail the spread of COVID-19, while experts continue to monitor and assess the situation.
The Gambia has so far registered 64 positive cases of covid-19 with three deaths.

The Board of Trustees, Directors and Advisory Councils of the Global South Economic Forum (GSEF) and the Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (AASGON), a signatory to the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and member of the UK Stakeholders for Sustainable Development (UKSSD) and the Global South Centre for Research Innovation Peace and Technology for Sustainable Development (G-SCRIPTS-D), have unanimously endorsed the candidature of His Excellency Ambassador Professor Muhammadou M.O. The British High Commissioner to The Gambia, David Belgrove has expressed his commitment to continue working with and supporting The Gambia’s Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources (MECCNAR) in accessing climate financing particularly for its programmes on resilience and adaptation.
