Hon. Modou Lamin B. Bah, the National Assembly Member for Banjul North Constituency, has been duly elected as the West Africa Bloc Representative (English-speaking countries) at the Network for African Parliamentary Committees of Health (NEAPACOH) Executive Committee.

His election took place during the 16th NEAPACOH Annual General Meeting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, held from March 5-7, 2025. The event brought together representatives from 26 African nations, including Members of Parliament from health and budgetary committees, civil society organisations, and key stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

As the head of The Gambia’s delegation, Hon. Bah presented the NEAPACOH 2025 report, reinforcing the country’s commitment to strengthening its healthcare system through parliamentary action and collaboration with key stakeholders. He also engaged with potential partners willing to support The Gambia’s healthcare sector, particularly in areas such as tuberculosis (TB), sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, and population development.

In a significant step forward, Hon. Bah stated that,  his team is now working towards establishing The Gambia’s first-ever TB caucus in parliament, aiming to mobilise legislative support in the fight against tuberculosis. He noted that his leadership at NEAPACOH is expected to open new opportunities for policy improvements and international collaborations that will enhance healthcare delivery in The Gambia and across the West African region.
