The Banjul North Constituency Office has donated a consignment of essential medical and maternal supplies to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul as part of efforts aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in the country.

The items were officially presented to the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Mustapha Bittaye and his management team. The donation included 42 newborn baby wrappers, 31 packs of adult diapers, five packs of sanitary pads and 7,000 clinical examination gloves.

Receiving the items, Dr. Bittaye expressed gratitude to the Banjul North Constituency Office and its partners in the Netherlands for the timely support. He noted that clinical gloves are among the hospital’s most essential consumables used in daily medical operations.

He also commended the continued support provided under the leadership of Madam Ursilla and acknowledged the contribution of Gambian partners from Door en Voor Gambia toward improving healthcare services.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to support EFSTH, the country’s main referral hospital, and improve patient care and health worker safety.

National Assembly Member for Banjul North, Hon. Modou Lamin B. Bah, thanked all partners and supporters for their commitment to strengthening the country’s health sector, stressing the importance of collaboration between government institutions, the Diaspora and civil society organisations in advancing universal health coverage in The Gambia.
