Ms. Dabo’s appointment is a recognition of her decades of distinguished service within the UN system and her unwavering commitment to advancing human rights, peacebuilding and sustainable development globally. From her early days as a UN volunteer, she steadily rose through the ranks, earning respect for her professionalism, integrity and results-driven leadership.
She previously served as Director and Deputy Head of the UN Peacebuilding Support Office, where she played a central role in shaping global peacebuilding strategies, strengthening international partnerships and supporting countries emerging from conflict. Her leadership contributed to innovative approaches aimed at promoting stability and long-term development.
Ms. Dabo also served as Country Director for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Tanzania, overseeing major governance and development programmes designed to improve livelihoods and institutional capacity.
A passionate advocate for women’s inclusion in peace processes, she facilitated women’s participation in negotiations in Ethiopia, Sudan and Syria, and helped train over 100 women mediators across 17 territories.
