ActionAid International The Gambia is pleased to welcome Satang B. Houma, FCCA, as our newly appointed Board Treasurer.
With more than 15 years of experience in financial management, audit, risk management, governance and institutional strengthening, Satang brings a wealth of expertise from the public, private and international development sectors.
She currently serves as Financial Controller and Head of the Financial Management Unit at the Ministry of Health Project Coordination Unit, providing financial leadership and fiduciary oversight for a multi-donor portfolio exceeding US$230 million.
Her experience includes financial governance, budgeting, reporting, internal controls, risk management and compliance, with programmes supported by institutions including the World Bank, Global Fund, Gavi, UN agencies and other development partners.
Beyond financial management, Satang brings extensive experience in audit, assurance, risk and fraud assessment, governance reviews and institutional strengthening. She has worked closely with senior management and Board Audit Committees to strengthen systems, improve controls and promote greater accountability.
As Board Treasurer, she will help strengthen ActionAid International The Gambia’s commitment to transparency, accountability, financial sustainability and responsible stewardship of resources.
Her appointment comes at an important time as the organisation continues to strengthen its governance and deepen its work with communities and partners to challenge inequality and advance social justice and lasting change.
