Ousainou Bojang, the alleged PIU shooter has testified that his friend informed him about his (Ousainou’) naked video on social media, including a woman whose face was hidden in the video.

The alleged PIU shooter was testifying before Justice E. Jaiteh of the Banjul High Court. He said he visited his friend called Ouman Colley who lived in Tanji who told him that in the video, his face was shown and the woman’s body was half shown.

Bojang, who is facing charges of killing two PIU officers, said he asked his friend if he could see the video but the friend told him that he did not have it on his own phone but on his cousin brother’s phone.

“I asked him whether he believes that it was my face that he saw in that video and he said yes that was my face,” he said.

Subsequently, Ousainou said while he was sitting with his friend, he felt ashamed and he later told him that he was leaving.

He explained that when he left his friend’s house, he called his boss in the UK and explained to her what his friend told him. He said he told his boss that he believed it was only Claudette, his white woman who could do that. He said Claudette was threatening him for a very long time that she would expose him.

Ousainou said on the last day he communicated with Claudette, she informed him that he was not aware of what was going on and that everyone was aware of what was going on.

He said the boss asked him if he had told Sharon, who was the treasurer of the lodge he was working at so that she could advise him about it. He said he contacted his boss first before telling anyone.

After he spoke with Sharon, Ousainou said, Sharon advised him to calm down and not to react and that she was at work and when she returned in the afternoon, she would discuss further with him.

“Ousman was the only person who told me about this on that first day of the week on Monday 11 September,” Ousainou recalled.

It would be recalled that, Ousainou Bojang told the court that when he left the Brusubi Police Station for his house, the next morning he found Famara Sarjo in his house sitting under the mango tree with his cousin called Adama.

I again called the police officer Sidi Sonko and I explained to him that Famara was still taking information from my family members, whether he could advise him to stay away.

“He advised me that he will do so but also further advised me to stand up for myself that I am from a Jola tribe,” Ousainou said.

Few days after that, Ousainou said he did not hear from the lady until 3rd September when she called him and asked whether he had paid the money for her maintenance.

He said he responded to Claudette that he did not pay yet the money because he was also waiting for the tenants to make their payments.

He further said Claudette asked him when would the tenants make their payments, and he told her: on 4th September which was the next day.

He said the tenants paid their money on that day and he informed Claudette about it which she also instructed him to do the usual procedures when monies are being paid.

He said he took D6,450 from the money which was for the monthly maintenance and deposited the rest into her account..

On Wednesday September 6th, Ousainou said he went to his boss Sharon Brown, who is the treasurer of the apartments and the same time the treasurer at Coco Ocean, and handed her the money that day in the afternoon.

He said Sharon was supposed to give him a receipt but she explained to him that she did not have a receipt and she was going to give him the receipt on Saturday.

On a Saturday, Ousainou said Claudette called him to tell him that she did not receive the receipt yet. However, he said he told her that he was yet to receive the receipt from Sharon on that very day.

“I later received the receipt and snapped it then sent it to her via WhatsApp.”

On the following day, Ousainou further testified that Claudette called him back and told him that she had received the receipt but the surname that Sharon wrote on the receipt was not her surname she was using at that moment.

“She told me her surname is Claudette Francis which should be put on the receipt. Claudette told me Sharon knows her name as Claudette Francis Multitude. She instructed me to tell Sharon to remove "Multitude" on the receipt and to write only Claudette Francis,” Ousainou narrated.

He said he explained it to Claudette that Sharon knew her as Claudette Francis Multitude and I could interfere between her and Sharon. He added that he told Claudette to text Sharon and ask her to remove Multitude from the receipt and to just write ‘Claudette Francis,’ he said.

The next day, which was on a Monday, Ousainou said, Claudette called him in the morning and told him that she gave him a power of attorney and that she instructed him to do that. That morning, Ousainou said he explained to her that he found her and Sharon together and he could not interfere between them.

“She told me that next time when somebody gives me a power of attorney and instructs me to do whatever, I should do that. She said I don’t know what is going on but people know what is going on with your situation. I asked her in what manner do you mean? She refused to respond and hung up the telephone. I tried to call her back but she refused to pick my call.

The case adjourned until 2 December 2024.
