6 drown at Sare Bojo Madina

Six people are reported drowned at the village of Sare Bojo Madina Mbaye in the Jimara District, Upper River Region (URR), The Point has been reliably informed. 

They were: Ebrima Marry Jallow, Ebrima Habsatou Jallow, Abdoulie Jallow, Alieu Baldeh and Muhammed Baldeh. They were swimming at a stream situated on the outskirt of the village. The body of a sixth person has also been recovered.

A source who is familiar with the matter described the incident as a “huge tragedy” for the village, saying “we are all mourning. In fact, three of the boys are my sons."

"These boys left the village for the stream for swimming and unfortunately, we lost all of them. They left the compound after their lunch. It’s so sad here. I can't just express how tragic this is to us."

The bodies of all the six have been recovered and were buried yesterday at the village.
