Ebrima Ceesay and Ansu Njie were recently convicted and sentenced by senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.
The 1st convict Ebrima Ceesay who was charged with attempting to commit a felony and stealing was sentenced to a fine of D1500, in default to serve four months in prison, while the 2nd convict, Ansu Njie who was charged with being in possession of stolen property was sentenced to a fine of D750, in default to serve two months in prison.
The Magistrate also ordered that the recovered items should be returned to their rightful owners.
According to the Magistrate, the court heard their plea of mitigation, hence they are first time offenders. But he noted that they deserve some punishment.
