Youthorama Organisation donates to GOVI

Youthorama Organisation Campaign yesterday donated goal balls to The Gambia Blind School team at a presentation held at Gambia Organisation of the Visually Impaired School Bantaba.

Youthorama Organisation is a non-profit organisation donating mini blind footballs around the world.  In the first two years, more than 3000 light sound balls have been distributed in 99 countries from 5 continents.

In his welcoming remarks, Modou S. Badjie expressed happiness for witnessing the presenting materials to his school.

Mr. Badjie state that the equipment are very much important for the blind Sports, noting that it is the only blind school in the country. He assured the donors that the equipment donated will be used for its intended purpose.

A representative of Youthorama Organisation, Hagi Drammeh said Youthorama is an international Blind Referee since 2000, saying that the main objective is to promote sports to visual impaired children whose families do not want them to take sports seriously.

‘‘We believe there are many young children with visual challenges who could be great ambassador for this great nation’’, he said.

He stated that the donated balls would inspire blind footballers to achieve their dreams.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the school, acting deputy head teacher, Saikou Jammeh expressed gratitude to the donors for the gesture. He applauded Youthorama for the gesture and promise to make best use of the donated items.
