Second Division side, VFL Osnabruck on Thursday signed the Scorpions striker,
Assan Ceesay on a loan-deal from Swiss top flight team FC FC Zurich.
The
25-year-old finisher signed a contract with the purple and white until the end
of the season.
The
1.89m tall striker successfully completed his medical on Thursday in Osnabruck
and signed his loan agreement with a validity until June 30, 2020.
The
former Gamtel FC player has been sent out on loan to the Bundeslige 2 in search
for a better playing time after making 12 appearances for FC Zurich this season
scoring one single.
Assan
Ceesay signed his first professional contract in 2016 with FC Lugano, scoring
seven goals and 3 assists in his first season before been loaned out to FC
Chiasso in 2017, where he also scored eight goals.
The
former Casa Sports player is the current striker of The Gambia Senior National
team, where he scored two goals during the Scorpions 3-1 away win against
Angola in the AFCON qualifiers.
“With
its speed, aggressive start-up behavior and deep running distances, Assan
Ceesay fulfills the requirement profile that we have defined for the search for
reinforcements in the offensive area. His header game not only offers us more
options in the offensive game and in standards, he can also tie up balls and
provide relief in the switchover game,” VfL sports director Benjamin Schmedes
explains the obligation.
