Twenty-one-year-old Halimatou Ceesay has written a book titled “Jammeh The Warrior of Our Great Gambia”.

Halimatou, who attended New Jeshwang Lower Basic School in Kanifing and Saint Joseph’s Senior Secondary School in Banjul, is a youth activist working as a youth volunteer at the New World for Youth Centre (Newpoy) in Bundung.

Speaking to this reporter on Tuesday at The Point office, Halimatou said she has fallen in love with writing since she was young and that she is convinced she has the talents to write.

She said that after her graduation she decided to start writing. Her first book, she added, would therefore be dedicated to President Jammeh.

“The book is about a God-sent warrior who fights so hard to give his people a better life,” she said.

“During this process this warrior works very hard on certain reforms to make sure that this great Gambia is protected in every possible way.

“If you want to know more about this warrior and the great Gambia, you must read this book.”

Halimatou added: “As an upcoming writer, I want to base my writing on reality so that if people read it they will know that it is reality because it would be things they live with.”

The book, she said, took her about six months to complete but it is yet to be published because she wants to seek the consent of the President before going ahead with it and for him to also sponsor the book, if possible.
