YMCA narrowly defeated Serrekunda East in the late Pa Modou Sarr Basket tournament play at the
The victors YMAC bagged 39 points to narrowly triumph over their opponent who score 38 points. YMCA for the first time are crown champions of the Late Pa Modou Sarr tourney.
This year's tournament is the fifth since its inception in 2004 following the death of the Mr Sarr in a car accident at Dallas in the USA. AS a result of this, the intimate friends of the decease who used to play with him before his demise decided to organise this tournament to remember him.
Eight teams participated in the tournament namely YMCA, LK Boys, Serrekunda East, Wallidan, Serrekunda West, Jeshwang and the others. The winners YMCA were given a giant trophy as consolation as champions of the tourney.
Tony Oniwaleh, coach of the victors said that after winning the trophy for the first time now they are going to take the tournament seriously. He further thanked the organisers for their effective service and successfully organising the tournament.
He promised that YMCA will continue to maintain their winning spirit in this memorial tournament. He assured supporters of YMCA that the team will always give their best to achieve success.
