YMCA Basketball team is through to the semi finals of the 7th edition of the Late Pa Modou Sarr Memorial Basketball Tournament after beating Sports House Basketball 26 to 23 in a final group B clash at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on Tuesday.
The tightly contested game was not an easy road to cross, because both sides needed only a victory to progress to the semi final. But it was YMCA who carried the day after registering three late goals which earned them a place in the semi final.
Sports House finished at the bottom of group B without a victory, meaning YMCA tops group B with two victories, and Lamin finished runner-up.
Wallidan Basketball team will lock horns with Lamin Basketball team in the first semi final on Sunday 19th March 2011 at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium Basketball Lawn, while YMCA Basketball team will meet Serrekunda Basketball team in the second semi final on Tuesday 21st March 2011.
