FA and Super Cup champions Gamtel have made a slow start to their 2010-11 Gambia Football Association division one league campaign with a goalless draw against Real De Banjul, on Tuesday, in the week two fixtures at the rejuvenated Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
Both sides put up a respectable performance in the match, and threatened each other’s goal-mouth, but the first period failed to produce a goal.
Real De Banjul were more determined than Gamtel, and they created numerous goal scoring chances, but still failed to hit the back of the net in the second period.
Gamtel were reduced to ten men in the 59th minute of the game, when Captain Matarr Nyang was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, but Gamtel’s formidable defence line managed to contain Real De Banjul strikers, and the game ended goalless.
Gamtel has now collected 2 points in two games, while Real De Banjul also collected 2 points in two outings.
