Mr. Hussein
Bissad, the second tallest man in the world with a height of (2.40m), is
currently in the country with his club London Stars FC on a weeklong
partnership link with Steve Biko FC of The Gambia.
Mr. Bissad,
31, is a Somali-British national. He is expected to return back home today Tuesday
3rd February 2008. Mr. Bissad is currently lodged at the Friendship Hotel in Bakau.
LondonStars FC was established in 1999 in London and is one of the best teams in the
city. The Gambia is the first West African nation to
host London Stars. They have however been to other parts of the continent
recently. They played a friendly game with the Djibouti National team, and
other East African Nations in recent months. Some of the players are
members of the Somali national team and took part in a recent tournament in
East and Central
Africa in Kampala, Uganda. They have also made similar tours
to Europe and Canada and have won many cups.
The London
Stars is composed of 18 players and three officials. They played their first
international match with hosts, Steve Biko at the Independence last Thursday and lost by three
goals to nil.

Sunday, the London Stars were defeated by the Gambia U17 by three goals to nil.
