The National Assembly member for Serekunda Central, Sainey Jaiteh, handed over the materials to Aja Amie Jatta, lady council for Bundung ward, for on ward distribution to the wards.
The beneficiary wards are Serekunda Central, Bundung Borehole and Bundung Mauritania Six Junction.
Hon. Jaiteh said the donation was made possible thanks to the hard work of the lady councillor for Bundung, Aja Amie Jatta.
Momodou Sanyang, constituency chairman, commended Women’s Bureau for “their timely intervention” in supporting the welfare of Bundung women.
Aja Jobe, Yai Compin of Bundung constituency, commended Women’s Bureau for ensuring that the three wards in Serekunda benefited from “this kind gesture”.
She noted that with the milling machine, they will be able to make “a lot of income”.
The Yai Compin also acknowledged the efforts of the lady councillor for Bundung, and the councillor of Bundung Six Junction for their hard work and honesty to the women of their respective wards.
Aja Amie Jatta, the lady councillor herself, hailed the National Assembly member for Serekunda Central for his encouragement and support to the women of Serekunda.
She also commended the executive director of Women’s Bureau, Binta Jammeh-Sidibeh, for her continued effort at supporting the grassroots community.
The lady councillor affirmed that she will continue to secure more development projects to ease the burdens of women.
Madam Jatta further urged the beneficiaries to open an account to ensure the sustainability of the milling machine.
Fatou Ceesay of Women’s Bureau said Gambians should be proud to have people like Madam Jatta for she is “very honest and hardworking”.
Ebrima Tamba, councillor for Bundung Borehole Bantaba, commended the women of Serrekunda Central for their cooperation and unity.
