Women sentenced for theft

Magistrate Wilson of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced Kumba Secka and Maimuna Baldeh, to a fine of D500 each on their own plea of guilty of stealing.

The charge sheet stated that on 25 December 2015, at Westfield Alvihag Supermarket in the Kanifing Municipality, they stole the following items: two bottles of Sunqiuck, two Armanti Mayonnaise valued at D138, seven Ardors milk valued at D127, six packets of biscuits valued at D204, one packet of biscuits valued at D168, two Ardor tissue papers valued at D101, two Colgate valued at D94, two Alpha tomato bottles valued at D50, three sardines valued at D63, six bars of soap valued at D41 and one Somate chocolate valued at D42, all the property of one Vijay Aswaw.
