Woman denies theft charge

A woman was recently arraigned before Magistrate Jallow of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing.

Mariama Kujabi pleaded not guilty of the charge and was granted court bail of D50,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an affidavit of means and an ID card.

According to the charge sheet, on 5 May 2011, at Pipeline, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Mariama Kujabi, stole from the house of one Lassana Kone US$1,000.

The case was adjourned till 16 May 2011.
