Masira Drammeh, a plaintiff's witness, recently testified in the claim of D25,850 brought against one Alhagie Ngum at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Tabally.
The plaintiff, Babucarr Jallow, sued one Alhagie Ngum, claiming recovery of D25,850, being the balance owed to him by Ngum.
Testifying before the court, the witness revealed that he knew both parties, adding that the parties once came to his compound regarding money issue.
"The defendant used to come to take loan from the plaintiff that has amounted to D31,000," Drammeh explained.
He added that both parties agreed with the amount of the loan in the presence of one Hassan Busu, who was the mediator between the parties during the transaction.
The witness adduced that the defendant promised to pay the money in his compound.
According to Drammeh, the plaintiff later called him to come and answer at the CID office in Serrekunda.
"At the CID office, I explained what had transpired between the parties," he stated.
He added that the defendant also admitted owing the plaintiff and agreed to pay the money by installment of D2,000, adding that an agreement was then written between them.
He told the court that the defendant paid D2,000 in two installments and also paid D1,250 in the third payment.
Since then the plaintiff made several demands but to no avail until the matter was brought to court, Mr Drammeh told the court.
