The third prosecution witness (PW3), Abdou Marena, was recently cross-examined in the ongoing murder case involving one Abdourahman Barry, at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul.

The accused person, Abdourahman Barry, was alleged to have murdered his younger brother, Sulayman Barry, in Brikama Town on 25 October 2011, a charge he had since denied.

Under cross-examination, Marena told the Special Criminal Court that he is a neighbour of the accused person.

He said he did not find the accused person and the deceased person fighting.

He added that he did not see any blood stains on the deceased, and did not know the reason why the accused was telling the deceased to “stop”.

“I lifted and held the deceased. He was alive, and I was speaking to him while he was responding to me, but not for a long time; because when his mother came, I stopped talking to him,” the witness told the court.
