In Gen. 18:1-8, Abraham welcomed three men who appeared to him in the name of God and showed hospitality to them. At the end of the visit Abraham was blessed and rewarded in his old age as his wife, Sarah bore him a son. Like Abraham the Christian Panorama together with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Gambia, wish to express a word of welcome to their General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye who will visit The Gambia.

Now in this edition, Christian Panorama presents to you about the Redeemed Christian Church, who Pastor Adeboye is and his proposed visit to The Gambia from the 24th – 25th March 2011.

Pastor E.A. Adeboye is the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide with its international headquarters in Nigeria.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God was established in 1952 by the founder, late Pastor Josiah Akindayomi. The church is not just an ordinary church but a covenant Church. God made a covenant with the Pa Akindayomi like the one He made with Abraham in the Bible, that this Church would spread to the ends of the earth and that when the Lord Jesus Christ appears, He would meet the church.

Pastor E.A. Adeboye took over the leadership of the church in 1981, since then the church has witnessed massive expansion with record number of parishes established in several parts of the world. At the last count, there were at least about 2,000 parishes of  The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria alone. On the International scene, the church has strong representation in over 140 countries of the world including The Gambia.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God is actively involved in promoting education by establishing centres of learning from Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools to University. The church is also involved in promoting health and welfare programmes for the poor, the unreached and those in bondage in any parts of the world through its faith clinic and is working hard to replicate these in many regions of the world.

Since coming into The Gambia, The Redeemed Christian Church of God has contributed on regular basis in giving spiritual food, moral instructions and the promotion of law abiding and well-behaved adherents. The Redeemed Christian Church of God has been contributing to educational development of children in The Gambia through the establishment of schools and educative seminars in Banjul, Kanifing, Manjai, Barra, Farrafeni etc. and also on several occasions it has embarked on free medical outreaches with gifts to different villages in The Gambia, to mention just a few.

Pastor E.A. Adeboye is an internationally acclaimed Pastor, a humble Servant of God, Prophet and an anointed man of God. The Almighty God has been using him to be a blessing to many nations of the world. He was a University don with PhD. in Applied Mathematics before becoming a Pastor. He is now a Christian Elder Statesman, a spiritual father to millions, a Pastor of Pastors and Prophet of Prophets. The popular Newsweek magazine acclaimed him as one of the world’s 50 influential people, and recently on February 12, 2011 he appeared on the CNN international on the programme African Voices where he highlighted the vision of The Redeemed Christian Church of God to the entire world.

The visit of Pastor E.A. Adeboye to the nation of The Gambia and the people is not ordinary. It is a divine arrangement by The Almighty God to be blessing to the nation of The Gambia.

This is a Prophetic and Apostolic visit. A prophet does not walk aimlessly. For a prophet to come all the way from Nigeria to The Gambia is for a purpose. God has sent Pastor E.A. Adeboye to the nation of The Gambia this time around to be a blessing to indigenes and the nation.

There will be an evening rally on the 25th of March, 2011 at the Independence Stadium, Bakau. The time is 6pm. Everyone is expected to come to the stadium to receive blessings from the Almighty God. The theme of the programme is “Let the Wind Blow”. The wind of the Holy Spirit is about to blow over the land of The Gambia with miracles, healing, salvation, deliverance, breakthrough, promotion, prosperity etc.

Let everybody come, expecting miracle from God. It is an appointment with destiny and the nation of The Gambia will never remain the same again. This is the time to move this nation forward spiritually, physically, politically and economically so that the nation can take her rightful position in the comity of nations to become a pace setter in Africa. You should not be left out.
