Leading Steve Biko are set to guide their top advantage in the Gambia Football Association Gamtel/Gamcel sponsored league when they meet fellow Bakau outfit Bakau United on Saturday.
Serrekunda East will host the all-Bakau derby as Steve Biko seek to increase its lead at the top, which is being contended by defending champions Real De Banjul who lost the opportunity to level on points with Biko when they drew goalless against Brikama in one of their matches in hand mid-week.
But with the present statistics Real still have the upper hand as they have another game to play against Gamtel to tally their matches played with fellow contenders.
Armed Forces will play Samger in Brikama. Another derby game will feature Real De Banjul against GPA in Banjul.
Sunday’s matches will feature Seaview against Brikama United while Interior play Hawks.
Steve Biko are leading the league table with 17 points in eight games, and Real De Banjul are 2nd with 15 points in seven games.
Brikama United are in 3rd with 13 points and Gamtel are sitting on 4th with two games in hand.
Armed Forces and Bakau United are in 5th and 6th positions on the league table with 9 points each.
Gambia Ports Authority and Interior are in 7th and 8th positions.
Samger and Young Africans are in 9th and 10th positions with 7 points each, Seaview are in 2nd from bottom with 6 points, and Hawks are rooted at the bottom of the table with 5 points.
