We don’t work as unit, Buba Jallow explains

After collecting another trail of 6-nil devastation in the hands of the USA in the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s tournament, Gambia’s head coach Buba Jallow, in a post-match press conference, told journalists that his girls are inexperienced and do not work as a unit.

“The defence is not relaxed, they open very wide, and the USA is more experienced than us; that was what cost us all the problems,” he said.

Asked about his side’s problems, the Gambian coach said it’s all about football and that “when you make mistakes, you will be punished”.

He said the USA capitalised on The Gambia’s mistakes at all areas of the field and “got us penalised”.

Conceding goals is part of the game, he says, adding that no team is prepared to be defeated in such a margin and that Gambians should bear with them as “this is our first appearance in a World Cup”.
