Voire dire trial continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before Justice Emmanuel Nkea, with the evidence of (DW1), Modou Salieu Suma (alias Muhammed Camara).

Suma said he told the complainant he would pray to God for her and he charged the complainant D1,000.

After bargaining with the complainant that marabout work was not free, the complainant said she had D250 and a mobile phone, Suma told the court.

He added that he did not admit the allegation made by the police against him, further denying that he never robbed the complainant of D1,000 and 4 mobile phones.

He added that he did not accept that he conspired with his co-accused, Babucarr Jammeh, to rob the complainant, as he did not know Jammeh at that time.

He further alleged that there was no time when a statement was obtained from him, neither was read to him, adding that the said statement was made in figment.

There was no witness, much more an independent witness, he said, adding that he was both a hairdresser and a marabout, but hairdressing was his profession.

The case continues.
