Viviane Ndour to storm Banjul next month

Preparations are in high gear receive the Senegalese female music star, Viviane Ndour, who is expected to land on the Gambian soil on 29 April.

Her coming into the country is organised by the Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC).

Speaking in an interview with The PointEntertainment on Thursday at his office in Banjul, Sheikh Tijan Jobe, president of the SSHFC Staff Association, said the association has invited Viviane in a bid to raise revenue for contribution to President Yahya Jammeh Back to the Land call on agriculture, to support the University of The Gambia, and hospitals in the provinces.

According to him, upon arrival in the country, Viviane will perform at a gala dinner on 29 April at the Senegambia Beach Hotel.

On 30 April there will be a dance at the Dream Park where Viviane will treat party people. The same concert will be repeated at Duplex nightclub, which will fall on May 1.

The Senegalese music star will also perform alongside other Gambian artistes like Jaliba Kuyateh, Jalex, Freky Joe, and Badibunka.

“Part of the activities that we going to have will be the launching of our staff association logo, the launching of our magazine as well as the launching of the newly created Viviane Fans Club which is going to be launched by the Gambian leader, who is the Chief Guest of honour.,” Mr Jobe said.

Elaborating on last year’s annual fundraising, Jobe said the funds gathered from the last year’s fundraising programme with Thione Secka was ploughed back to the society in line with the corporate social responsibility of the association.

He also said some donation was given to the NEA at a presentation ceremony held at the Office of the Vice President.

Another donation of D30,000 was given to the AFPRC hospital in Farafini, he added.
