Officials of the World Connection Marketing (WCM) and the Gambia Tourism Board (GTB) on Monday discussed possible partnership to promote Gambia tourism.
Speaking at a press briefing held on Monday at the Kairaba Beach Hotel, Ousainou Senghore, director of Finance and Administration of the GTB, who spoke on behalf of the director general of the Board, thanked the WCM officials for visiting The Gambia.
According to him, the development was in line with the GTB’s efforts at making the destination one of all-year tourist season.
Director Senghore added that The Gambia is a destination the WCM can explore.
“We met with Linda and Lars-Ola during our trip to Sweden where we discussed with them and convinced them that The Gambia is a destination they can work with and help to promote the Nordic region,” he recalled.
Lars-Ola Nordqvist, managing director of CWW Scandinavia, Comvision AB and WCM, thanked the Ministry of Tourism and the GTB, as well as the stakeholders, for the warm welcome accorded them.
He explained that they are travellers and trade experts and their services include global sales and public relations.
For her part, Linda Schultz, sales and marketing manager for global brands such as Delta Airlines, also thanked the Ministry of Tourism and the Gambia Tourism Board for the warm welcome accorded them.
According to her, their past achievements in sales and marketing plus PR would assure the ministry and all the stakeholders in the industry that they could work with them to promote the destination.
Adama Njie, director of marketing at the GTB who delivered the vote of thanks, also hailed the two officials from the WCM for their visit.
He also commended them for touring facilities within the destination while assuring them that they would get the full support of the Ministry of Tourism and the Gambia Tourism Board.
