We
would like to express our profound and deepest condolences to the family,
friends and loved ones and to all Gambians and non-Gambians mourning the loss
of a national and international citizen in the late Doctor Ebrima Malick Samba,
former President of erstwhile Gambia Football Association who passed on Thursday
July 28th 2016 and buried on Friday July 29th 2016.
The
third (3rd) President of the GFA from 1977 to 1978 was a strong positive force
in the promotion and development of football. We are awed by his sincerity,
humility and simplicity in a professional and personal way, and we are inspired
by his excellent work ethic. He spoke from the heart, was gracious and valued
other people’s time.
Over
the years, we have admired and respected Doctor Samba not only for being an
exemplary leader of the GFA, but most of his personal commitment and sacrifice
to soccer.
We
would like to express our profound gratitude and condolences to the family of
our fallen comrade who served football with distinction.
On
behalf of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) and the entire football
fraternity as a whole, I would like to offer my condolences to the family of
Doctor Ebrima Malick Samba. May Allah’s eternal bliss be with him.
