The US Embassy in Banjul will launch no-to-back-way concert album tomorrow at the Paradise Suites Hotel in Kololi at 19:30.

According to Richard T. Yoneoka, US Embassy charge d’affaires, over the past years they have heard from Gambia government officials and civil society about the growing alarm regarding emigration of youths from the Gambia through the “back way”.

“It appears that segment of society did not fully understand the risks, dangers, and costs of the ‘back way’.

“Building on our strong collaboration with Gambian artistes this year with the tribute concert to Martin Luther King, Jr. and the ‘Song of Hope’ (Ebola song), we commissioned twelve of the most popular Gambian artistes to compose and record songs in Wollof, Mandinka, Sarrahule and English to sensitize the public regarding the ‘back way.’"

The album will be available free for download from the US Embassy’s sound cloud (https://soundcloud.com/usembassy banjul/sets/no to back way) page.
